After an encouraging Grand Prix in Belgium, Gasly was supposed to continue on his momentum and score some points. But things didn’t go as planned for the French driver, who finished 11th, just outside the top 10.

The Frenchman who arrived 9th in Belgium was highly anticipated at the Dutch Grand Prix. However, he didn’t start the weekend in the best conditions, with a 14th place in Free Practice 1 and a 16th place in the second Free Practice session. A problem with his car forced him to wait in the pits for a short while before heading out for Free Practice 1.

The third free practice sessions aren’t much better with a 15th place secured. But he bounces back for the qualifiers, getting the 11th place. An 11th place that he won’t leave during the Grand Prix the day after the qualifiers.

A poorly managed race.

Having started behind his teammate, Gasly found himself stuck behind him for quite some time, unable to overtake. His car seemed faster though. It wasn’t until Tsunoda’s retirement that Gasly was able to have more freedom on the track. However, it was a bit too late to hope for a points finish.

Afterwards, it’s a shame, we stayed stuck behind Yuki throughout the first part of the race. After my pit stop, I found myself behind him again, I was faster but it was impossible to overtake.

With all the rumors surrounding him and his possible departure, Gasly struggled to make himself noticed this weekend. He has a Grand Prix to make up for next weekend in Monza.
