No penalty for Hamilton after hindering Sainz in FP1
The Mercedes driver will not be penalized for his move on Carlos Sainz during the first practice session at Zandvoort.

After summoning Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz following the first free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix, the FIA has decided not to penalize the seven-time world champion for impeding the Spaniard.
During this first practice session, while Sainz was finishing his fast lap, Hamilton was preparing to start his. The Ferrari then approached the Mercedes at turn 13, the second-to-last corner of the Dutch track, without Hamilton making it easy for his opponent.
During the hearing of the two drivers and their representatives by the FIA commissioners, the main parties involved understood that it was a dangerous maneuver. Nevertheless, they pointed out that the layout of the track was conducive to this kind of situation, and that Sainz had not been significantly affected by Hamilton’s maneuver.
Therefore, the FIA has decided not to sanction the car bearing the number 44.
