Boris Penel: « The drivers can count on the entire team »
After Caio Collet's pole in F3 and Felipe Drugovich's pole in F2, the Dutch team MP Motorsport was in a celebratory mood at Spa Francorchamps. Boris Penel, car manager, shares his impressions.

MotorsInside: In wet conditions on Friday, the MP confirmed their good form. What is your impression?
Boris Penel (F3 car manager at MP Motorsport): « We were very impatient to come here, because we wanted to demonstrate that we were fast here, and not only in Budapest. Everything went generally well, despite a more complicated free practice session. Especially for Felipe Drugovitch, it’s even better for the championship against Théo Pourchaire. »
MotorsInside: Regarding your second F2 driver, Clément Novalak, things haven’t been as smooth (16th on the grid). What happened to him?
B. P.: « I didn’t have many opportunities to interact with the F2 team regarding Clément. But I must say that he is a driver in his first year in the category and he still needs to get comfortable and learn. I believe that if we manage to give him a car where he feels more at ease, he will be able to succeed. Spa is a track where overtaking is possible and we hope that he will find something for the end of the season. »
MotorsInside: Regarding your two most successful drivers, Caio Collet and Felipe Drugovitch, how do they feel within the team and how do they communicate with you?
B. P.: « When everything goes well, it’s inevitably easier! For Caio, it’s great because he has been flexing his muscles and working hard to play in the forward positions for a while now. We will now have to maintain the team’s excellent dynamics to allow him to have the same kind of weekends. The drivers have a good team around them, and they can rely on everyone (mechanics, physios, and engineers).
