Belgian Grand Prix: forecasts and introduction
This weekend, Formula 1 returns after a month-long break. It sets its bags down in Belgium at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. MotorsInside presents its predictions and the circuit to you.

This weekend, the drivers will compete on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The drivers will have to cover a distance of 7.004 km per lap, which involves 19 corners. Max Verstappen is the reigning winner of this Grand Prix, which he won in 2021.
A rookie for the FP1
AlphaTauri has decided to start a rookie for FP1. It’s Liam Lawson, the current 8th in Formula 2, who will take the wheel of Pierre Gasly’s AT03. This appearance by Liam Lawson is a first for him and for AlphaTauri, as they see a rookie race for the first time this season.
A modified layout for safety.
Three years after the tragic accident of Anthoine Hubert, the organizers have decided to make some modifications to the circuit. In several turns, they have decided to place gravel traps to prevent new accidents of this magnitude. The drivers will therefore have a first glimpse of the circuit.
The predictions of the editorial staff
It’s the Formula 1 resumption this weekend after a month-long break. A break that allowed drivers to recharge and teams to establish a new strategy for this Grand Prix.
With the rain expected to join in, the race should be uncertain in terms of the expected results. The favorites should still break away and continue to score many points.
On the last two races, we have witnessed a meteoric rise of Mercedes, who managed to secure two podium finishes for both drivers. Mercedes could continue their momentum and secure a third consecutive podium.
Verstappen, on the other hand, had won the last two mid-season Grand Prix races as well as the last Spa-Francorchamps Grand Prix. He is therefore the clear favorite with Leclerc trailing behind who still hopes to catch up in points and could potentially play tricks on Verstappen.
For the qualifications, Ferrari remains the team to beat. It is the team that has achieved the most poles and it could repeat this with Leclerc or Sainz. The other teams will still try to snatch the pole position and perhaps even create a surprise.
