After leaving the Formula 1 world in 2018, Brendon Hartley, Stoffel Vandoorne, and Marcus Ericsson had a successful season in 2022. The first mentioned won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the second won the Formula E championship, and the last one stood out at the Indianapolis 500.

The three victories allow the drivers to return to a high level. A beautiful revenge for them who had left after a failed season in Formula 1.

Brendon Hartley had finished in 19th place in Formula 1 while racing for the Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda team, formerly known as AlphaTauri, alongside Pierre Gasly. He had only scored 4 small points during the Grand Prix.

Stoffel Vandoorne was better ranked with a 16th place in the final standings. He was racing for McLaren alongside Fernando Alonso. He scored a total of 26 points.

The last of the three men, Marcus Ericsson, had arrived just behind Stoffel Vandoorne in 17th place. He was racing for Sauber Ferrari with Charles Leclerc as his teammate. He had then scored 18 points.

The three drivers took different paths after this failure. The first one mentioned switched to endurance racing and consequently won the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year after a few seasons of trials. The second one ventured into Formula E and also won it this year. As for the last one, he chose to go to IndyCar and eventually emerged victorious at the Indianapolis 500 miles.

Three different paths for one and the same result, victory at the end in their discipline. A beautiful reward for these drivers who had to pick themselves up after their time in Formula 1.
