Before the first match of the Bundesliga season against Koln, RB Leipzig footballer Emil Forsberg took a tour of the city in a two-seater Formula 1 car, accompanied by former driver David Coulthard. The player wanted to get the supporters in the mood before this first match of the new season.

Red Bull is a Formula 1 team but also owns several sports clubs around the world. In football, they notably founded RB Leipzig in Germany and acquired Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, as well as New York Red Bulls in the United States.

The rise of RB Leipzig in football is meteoric. They move up divisions several consecutive years to ultimately finish in the Bundesliga and become a big club in this league.

The player Emil Forsberg is a very important player for Leipzig and can already be considered a legend of this young club with his 200 appearances. He is currently one of the best players and scored the first goal in the club’s history in the Champions League.

David Coulthard, on the other hand, is the first great Red Bull driver. He has 13 wins in Grand Prix and is the first driver from Red Bull to stand on the podium in Monaco.

For this tour of Leipzig, both of them boarded a two-seater 720 horsepower Formula 1 car. The car was converted to accommodate the two athletes. It can reach speeds of up to 320 km/h when both of them are inside.

This tour of Leipzig is unique and it’s the first time the city is receiving a visit from such a car. It comes just a few months after the football team’s first trophy win, the German Cup.

The two passengers spoke up after this unique tour in which they visited the most beautiful places in the city.

It was an incredible experience for me to cross Leipzig with David in a Formula 1 car. Experiences like this might only happen once in a lifetime. The feeling and sound in the racing car are insane – a pure adrenaline rush, declared the Swedish football player.

« This is the closest thing you can really get to give a passenger the feeling of what it’s like to drive a Grand Prix car. This is my second time in Leipzig. It’s a young and cool university city. There’s just an energy and atmosphere here that really makes you feel it’s happening. » expressed David Coulthard.

A memory that Emil Forsberg is unlikely to forget.
