Piastri and his two valid contracts

After a very eventful week in the world of Formula 1 with Alonso’s departure from Alpine to Aston Martin and the controversies surrounding Piastri, the week begins on the same grounds with two contracts that would be valid for him. These contracts would come from Alpine and McLaren, both fighting for the young driver.

According to Auto Hebdo, the Formula 1 contract recognition board has conducted an investigation into the two contracts proposed for Piastri. These two contracts would be recognized as valid and legal by the board.

Both contracts being valid, the choice will be up to the driver who will have to choose the best contract for him. But Alpine, who still believes Piastri should race for them, doesn’t want to leave it there and will do everything to block Piastri from joining another team next year. That’s why the case could be brought to court so that the final decision can be made and officially confirmed for next year, as announced by the director of Alpine. « Going to the High Court is over 90% certain that this is what we are going to do. »

The Alpine director, Otmar Szafnauer, is confident about Piastri’s arrival at Alpine and demands more respect from the driver towards the contract he would have signed: (e) “We have a contract with Piastri that he signed in November. We have spoken to our lawyers and they have told us that it is a binding contract, so part of this contract allows us to put Oscar in one of our cars in 2023.”

« I expected more loyalty from Piastri. He should have it with the team that took care of him, that put him in a Formula 1 car throughout the last year so that he would be ready, so that he would know the circuits.
