Will Russell be able to keep his Mercedes in first place?

The Hungaroring circuit offered us a superb show this Saturday with a result as surprising as unexpected, with George Russell securing his first ever pole position. The British driver completed a perfect lap to displace the equally impressive Carlos Sainz, finishing ahead of him by just 44 milliseconds.

The unknown remains the rhythm of the Mercedes in the race. We were expecting the Silver Arrows to be quite far from the mark this weekend, but it must be said that the Brackley team is coming back very strong in the middle of the championship!

Whatever happens, Hamilton’s teammate will need to make a great start to contain the Red Curtain behind him and give himself a chance of a possible first career victory on a circuit where overtaking is often very tricky.

Will Ferrari finally take advantage of Red Bull’s poor form?

No pole position this Saturday for the Scuderia, but a good overall result with Carlos Sainz securing second place just ahead of his teammate Leclerc. A completely different story for the Austrian rival where Max Verstappen was unable to defend his chances in Q3 due to a power issue, while Pérez could only manage a disappointing 11th place.

For the Italian team, this is a great opportunity to regain a lot of points from Red Bull as the comeback of both contenders is not guaranteed on the Hungarian circuit. With the numerous points lost in the last Grand Prix races, Mattia Binotto’s men would be wise to make a statement this Sunday.

Will Alpine once again slide a car onto the Hungarian podium?

Very good performance also from the Enstone side with a monopolized third row, Estéban Ocon ahead of Fernando Alonso. As the defending champion on this track, the Frenchman particularly enjoys this circuit and equals his best qualifying session of the year.

The Alpine drivers are still behind Lando Norris’ McLaren, who is in 4th place, but the objective is clear: to focus on their own race and score as many points as possible with the aim of securing 4th place in the Constructors’ Championship.

With Alonso particularly impressive in every session, the French team can even dare to dream of a podium in case of mishaps at the front during the start. After all, victory partly came that way last year!

Will the rain invite itself again to spice up the show?

The sky threatened this Saturday afternoon, but the rain stayed far from the circuit throughout the three qualifying sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix. However, in the morning during FP3, the session took place on a wet track and the results of each driver were particularly interesting.

Last year, the rain allowed us to have a completely crazy Grand Prix with a track drying very quickly and unconventional strategies. Some additional spectacle wouldn’t be refused in a season that has been very convincing in this aspect so far.

So, who will succeed Esteban Ocon on the list of winners of the Hungarian Grand Prix?

The start of the Grand Prix will be given at 3:00 pm.
