The Mayor of Nice puts an end to rumors about a potential Formula 1 Grand Prix in his city
In Nice-Matin, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, put an end to rumors linking his city to a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The future of the French Grand Prix is becoming increasingly uncertain. As the twelfth round of the 2022 championship is taking place this weekend at the Paul-Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, rumors suggest that the French race might be absent from the 2023 season onward.
A month ago, the boss of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, mentioned the possibility of seeing Formula 1 cars racing in the streets of Nice one day. This possibility was denied this morning by Christian Estrosi.
I will fight with all my might to ensure that the French F1 Grand Prix continues at the Paul-Ricard circuit. It will not be in Nice.
As a reminder, Stefano Domenicali had declared the following: “You may not be aware, but there is an incredible project with Nice, which wants a Grand Prix. This proves that other destinations in your country are interested in Formula 1. We will look into the files and study them carefully. All I can tell you is that by the end of July, you will know more about the future of your Grand Prix.”
The deadline is fast approaching and we all hope that the outcome of this thorny issue will be a happy one for the many Formula 1 fans in France.
