Sainz penalized on the grid for a engine component change
Ferrari has chosen the French Grand Prix to change some engine components on Carlos Sainz's race car, resulting in penalties.

Carlos Sainz will be demoted on the starting grid of the French Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard Circuit. The Spaniard has taken a third electronic control unit (ECU) for the race weekend, exceeding the allowed quota of two without penalty for the season. As this is Sainz’s first additional ECU, he will receive a 10-place grid penalty.
Ferrari is only at the beginning of the weekend, it is highly likely that Ferrari will use even more new components this weekend, such as a new engine block and a new turbocharger. There will therefore be more penalty positions for Sainz, it is likely that he will start last on the grid, as any penalty exceeding 15 positions forces the driver in question to start last.
