Improvements for Mercedes at Le Castellet
Mercedes has confirmed improvements on its W13 for the French Grand Prix. Toto Wolff hopes to continue his team's good momentum this weekend.

The team principal of Mercedes, Toto Wolff, announced that improvements will be made for the French Grand Prix. Mercedes has been on a streak of 4 podium finishes in 4 races, and their understanding of their cars is becoming more precise while their performances are growing. In order to continue this positive momentum, the German team has decided to equip both cars with new upgrades, which will go hand in hand with a track that is more favorable to their concept.
We achieved three podium finishes in the first seven races, and now we have achieved four in the last four. I am pleased with the momentum we are building, and this reflects the enormous efforts of the team. Our understanding of the W13 is growing with each round, and it is encouraging to see that this is reflected in our development and results,” explained Toto Wolff on the eve of the French Grand Prix.
« While we were faster in Austria, we still weren’t fast enough to fight at the front. We need to continue chasing those elusive tenths and bring new developments to the cars, including this weekend in France. Paul Ricard is a track that offers a very different challenge. It has a smooth tarmac and a wide range of corner types, as well as long straights. The objective will therefore be to further narrow the gap with the leaders and hopefully get back on the podium.

Mercedes is behind Ferrari with only a 66-point deficit. The German team has managed to capitalize on all their rivals’ weaknesses to maximize their results, and is now close enough to pose as a threat to their opponents.
