The improvements by Red Bull are not made for Verstappen
Max Verstappen admits that the recent improvements made by Red Bull were not designed to favor him.

Red Bull has just suffered two defeats for the first time this season, first at Silverstone, and even more painfully, on their home soil in Austria. Max Verstappen had a very difficult race in England and was completely deprived in Austria.
It is possible that the new improvements made to the RB18 may not be as effective as expected. On the other hand, Ferrari seems to have found a way to make up for the deficit in races against Red Bull.
Especially, there are rumors circulating that the improvements would be specifically made to favor Dutch. Indeed, the new front wing makes the car more pointy on the front end and goes against Sergio Perez’s driving style.
He explains that the car is much more elusive to me than at the beginning of the season. On the other hand, Verstappen, a fan of sharp and oversteering cars, seems more comfortable with these improvements.
Verstappen: first target of improvements?
The Dutch driver denies being favored by his team regarding the development of the car. We always strive to make the car faster, and no matter the changes to the car, we have to adapt to them.
« Afterwards, of course I would like my car to be designed exclusively around me in general, but that’s not the case here. We’re just trying to have more rhythm. »
After losing the race against Charles Leclerc, reports suggest that the latest improvements on the RB18 made it heavier, worsening tire degradation.
