Hamilton hopes that the new technical regulations will favor Mercedes
The new technical regulations of the FIA will come into effect at the French Grand Prix.

The FIA shared with the teams the ins and outs of the new technical guidelines that will come into effect starting from the French Grand Prix. These guidelines include measures aimed at reducing bouncing on the cars in order to protect the drivers.
Ferrari and Red Bull have already suffered the consequences, as the FIA has made it clear that the flexible underfloor used by these two teams will soon be illegal.
Mercedes, on the other hand, is delighted by this news. Indeed, if their direct competitors have their clever flat funds declared illegal, it is the German team that could benefit the most.
It appears that Mercedes is the only team that was able to directly understand the technical directives from the FIA in Canada, while the other teams were asking for more time to implement adjustments that comply with the new regulations.
Hamilton therefore hopes that the French Grand Prix will see a shake-up in the standings: « I pray every day. I honestly hope that we can make progress and I know that everyone is working very hard towards it. There are also many things happening behind the scenes. It will be very interesting to see how everyone will be affected. »
