In the end, I was in a big battle, but they had too much top speed for me. We lost time with the pit stop, and then I tried to chase, chase, chase, but it was complicated with the tires. They had too much top speed.
So close to his first victory this season, Esteban Ocon’s retirement, which caused a Safety Car, derailed his momentum. Upon the restart, he had to fight with Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, which allowed Carlos Sainz to race straight towards his first victory.
