Alfa Romeo is aiming for 4th place in the constructor championship
In light of the rapid progress of the car, Valtteri Bottas asserts that 4th place in the constructors' championship is conceivable for Alfa Romeo.

Currently 6th in the constructor championship with 47 points, Alfa Romeo has made significant progress compared to their previous season. The Italian team is only 18 points behind McLaren in 4th position. Valtteri Bottas, who is experiencing his first season with Alfa, is largely responsible for his team’s success this year, scoring 44 out of his team’s 47 points. According to him, Alfa can do even better.
Despite frequent reliability issues on the C42, Bottas remains convinced of his team’s progress: “If we compare the pre-season tests to now, the difference is enormous. Once we understood that we had a car capable of scoring points, like in Bahrain, it was a big motivation boost for the team. Now, everyone wants to take a step forward instead of falling back like before.”
« I think the 4th position is a good target, we should try to surpass Alpine, and I believe it is a realistic goal for us. To achieve it, we will need to score points with both cars in every race, which is achievable.

On his side, rookie Guanyu Zhou still struggles to keep up with Bottas’s pace, and reliability is not his main asset. The Chinese driver has indeed retired 3 times in a row due to a mechanical problem with his car. But an 8th place in Canada gives good hopes to the rookie: « The result in Canada was a huge boost after some tough races where we couldn’t show our worth. Managing to bring back my best result in F1 clearly shows that we are making progress since my debut nine races ago. I want to continue improving and scoring points for my team. »
