Wolff accused of having access to internal information from the FIA

This is one of the hot topics in the paddocks. Toto Wolff is accused of having had access to confidential information within the FIA regarding the new technical directives.

At the Canadian Grand Prix, the FIA has implemented new rules in order to limit the phenomenon of bouncing and protect the drivers’ health. Strangely, only Mercedes was able to make the necessary modifications to comply with the new regulations.

This stroke of luck for Mercedes has raised many questions. Rumor has it that Toto Wolff was informed of these new rules before the official announcement, allowing them to be the only team capable of reacting in time, whereas all the other teams complained about the limited room for maneuvering ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Despite all these accusations, Toto Wolff believes he can perform better when everyone is against him. “I am right in my comfort zone, everyone has been against me my whole life, but that’s where I am most effective. If everyone is against me, it means I was right.”

Toto Wolff is also accused of having obtained private information from the new FIA Secretary General Shaila-Ann Rao, who used to be a lawyer and advisor to Toto Wolff in the past. The Austrian has denied the accusations. Firstly, she is a lawyer of utmost integrity. Secondly, team directors have influenced the drivers in such a way that the impacts are not perceived as a source of health issues. At least one driver in each team has publicly stated that they suffer from pain, headaches, or poor visibility while racing, and all the directors have acted as if nothing happened, which is irresponsible.

It is clear that Toto Wolff has always had a great influence in Formula 1, and all of this echoes the controversy claiming that Lewis Hamilton simulated his pains to allow Mercedes to push for changes to help them combat their setbacks.
