Gasly wants to turn AlphaTauri into a top team
Pierre Gasly has been reconfirmed at AlphaTauri for 2023, and the Frenchman is taking stock ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Proud of his contract extension with AlphaTauri, and despite a tougher start to the season compared to 2021, Pierre Gasly is optimistic about the future and intends to play a central role within his team. The Normandy native arrives at Silverstone with great ambitions, but is already thinking about 2023.
« I am eagerly looking forward to this weekend at Silverstone for many reasons, notably the fact that I know I can now consider 18 additional months with this team. I am thrilled that it has been confirmed early, so we now have time to plan a strategy on how to build and develop next year’s car. We already know that we can perform well together, so I am confident that if we work hard for the remainder of this season and on development, there is no reason why we cannot have an excellent 2023 season.

For me personally, my objective is to help this team reach the top. Compared to my arrival here in 2017, we now have much more experience working together, we know each other and understand each other very well within the team, both in Faenza and Bicester.
AlphaTauri is heading to Great Britain, a track that Pierre Gasly considers not very suitable for his AT03. As for Silverstone this weekend, it’s a circuit that I really enjoy, it’s very fast and we have incredible sensations with the car in certain sections, especially Maggotts and Becketts. But we’ll have to see how we fare because, to be honest in assessing our car, we know that we lack a bit of aerodynamics and we can expect to face a weekend that may not be easy, as Silverstone will be tricky for us.
Pierre Gasly is currently 11th in the driver standings with 16 points scored. He is ahead of his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who is in 15th place.
