Two weeks ago at the Canadian Grand Prix, Guanyu Zhou scored points for the second time this season after many unlucky incidents. With Valtteri Bottas consistently performing well, Alfa Romeo thus achieved its second double points finish of the season after Bahrain.

This weekend, the British Grand Prix takes place on the legendary Silverstone circuit. For Frédéric Vasseur’s team, the objective is clear: to use the Canadian Grand Prix as a springboard to launch a successful streak of double points finishes.

Xevi Pujolar, head of track engineering for the team, already wants to lead the midfield. « I think we can expect to fight at the top of the midfield. We’ll have to see, I’m not sure if some teams will bring upgrades to Silverstone, but so far, I would say we have been quite consistent on all different types of tracks and with different aerodynamic efficiencies as well. »

So for the next races, we expect to be fighting at the top of the midfield; Alpine, McLaren, and seeing if we can score some new points. A double entry is our objective. We are in the position that we want to be in Q3 with both cars because it is the right way to have solid races, first against Alpine, adds Pujolar.

In the constructors’ standings, Alfa Romeo is in sixth place, six points behind Alpine just ahead. McLaren, on the other hand, currently seated in fourth position, has a 14-point lead over the Italo-Swiss team.
