Jehan Daruvala conducted tests with McLaren at Silverstone
Jehan Daruvala, third in F2, has completed two full days of testing with McLaren at Silverstone. The Red Bull junior driver has driven enough to obtain his super license.

As announced by McLaren on Monday, Jehan Daruvala conducted tests at Silverstone with the Woking team. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the 22-year-old Indian driver drove the previous year’s MCL35M. He completed 130 laps over the two days, testing various fuel and tire configurations.
The driver who races for Prema in Formula 2 was thrilled after his first laps behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.
« I really enjoyed my first time driving a Formula 1 car. I immediately felt at home and even though it was physically more demanding than anything I have ever driven in the past, I had no physical issues. We were able to work well on the setup and complete everything we had planned, “said Jehan Daruvala in an interview with FormulaRapida.net website.
« It allowed me to understand well how the teams work during a F1 weekend. Overall, I am very satisfied with how the two days went, how I handled it, and the mileage we were able to cover. I felt that I was able to get closer to the limit on every lap and I am looking forward to driving one of these cars again, says the Indian.
What a couple of days it’s been!… An unreal experience driving a Formula 1 car for the first time around Silverstone 🤩👌🏽 A big thank you again to everyone that made this happen, I had lots of fun and learned so much in just two days ✅

A great license in one’s pocket.
Thanks to the 130 laps completed at Silverstone, Jehan Daruvala has obtained his super license, the precious sesame required for entry into Formula 1. As a reminder, one must have driven a Formula 1 car for a minimum of 300 km to obtain their ticket to the premier category. Other conditions are also necessary, such as obtaining 40 points on a scale defined in the lower categories. Finishing on the podium in F2 already ensures these 40 points, but with his previous seasons in the feeder series to the elite, Jehan Daruvala already possesses the necessary total to obtain his super license.
This season, the Indian is third in the Formula 2 championship with 73 points, 10 units behind Théo Pourchaire and far behind the leader Felipe Drugovich who has 132 units.
