Since the beginning of the season, the F1 drivers’ schedule during a Grand Prix weekend has focused on three days. On Friday mornings, the drivers hold press conferences before getting behind the wheel of their single-seaters for two free practice sessions.

Starting from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone (July 1st – 3rd), drivers will return to the old format with press conferences taking place on Thursday, 23 hours before the first laps. These media obligations will be split into two half-hour sessions, with five drivers present in each. Drivers who are not called to the press conference on Thursday will have to participate in media sessions organized by their respective teams.

This change follows a complaint from the teams who found that the Friday schedule was too busy. At Silverstone, the first free practice sessions will take place on Friday, July 1st at 1:00 PM local time. Therefore, the press conferences on Thursday will start at 2:00 PM.
