Pierre Gasly stays with AlphaTauri for 2023
There is now no doubt: Pierre Gasly will stay at AlphaTauri for the 2023 Formula 1 season. The Faenza team officially announced it this Friday morning.
It’s now official, Pierre Gasly will continue the adventure with AlphaTauri next season. Back in the Faenza team since mid-season 2019, the Frenchman will stay for at least one more season before potentially considering the opportunities that are available to him for 2024.
Pierre Gasly reacts: “I’ve been with this team for five years now and I’m proud of the journey we’ve been on together and the progress we’ve made. I’m happy to stay with my AlphaTauri team. The new regulations this year have created new challenges and being able to plan our development with the team for the next 18 months is a good foundation for future work.”
AlphaTauri’s boss, Franz Tost, also expressed his great happiness in keeping Pierre Gasly in the Faenza team. We are thrilled to confirm that Pierre will remain with us in 2023. He is definitely among the best and most competitive drivers in F1, and he has proven his abilities throughout his time with us. Without a doubt, Pierre can play a major role in the team by having a successful season next year, and it will be our responsibility to provide him with a competitive car so he can continue to achieve excellent results.
Arriving at Toro Rosso at the end of the 2017 season, now known as AlphaTauri, before a brief stint at Red Bull and a return to his original team just six months later, Pierre Gasly has chosen stability for the coming year.
