Mick Schumacher has struggled a lot with the bumps in Baku
Mick Schumacher, like many drivers, complained about the bumpiness experienced during last Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The German claims to have suffered a lot from back pain.

Decidedly, this Azerbaijan Grand Prix caused a lot of damage among the drivers. The long start/finish straight of the Baku circuit (over 2 km) caused hydroplaning for most of the cars. While the attention was initially focused on Lewis Hamilton, whose struggle was very visible when he got out of the car, many drivers have claimed to have suffered a lot.
This was the case for Mick Schumacher behind the wheel of his Haas, the young German finished in an anonymous 14th place, but with a suffering back.
« I think everyone suffered to be honest, I think it was a very difficult race. I started feeling my back, I think, after 10-15 laps. And honestly, at the end, it was quite tough. » Michael’s son explains to Autosport.
« The problem with the rebounds we experienced with these heavy bumps we had on the straight line is that you don’t have the opportunity to recover. Usually, you had the straight lines to relax, while now you’re constantly trying to tense up because you’re being shaken so much in your seat, » regrets Schumacher.
The Haas driver, still in search of his first points, hopes that the governing bodies will mobilize to find solutions to these infernal rebounds. « It’s certainly something they will have to examine. And I’m sure that F1 and the FIA are doing their best to try to solve this problem. »
Yesterday, the FIA announced that it is taking several measures to help the drivers by explaining that it has decided that, in the interest of safety, it is necessary to intervene and require teams to make the necessary adjustments to reduce or eliminate this phenomenon.
