Everything didn’t go as planned for the start of this 90th edition. At the front, the Toyotas were not challenged, while behind the two Japanese cars, the Alpine was overtaken right after the chicane of the connection by the Glickenhaus.

In LMP2, the number 22 from United Autosport lost its second place after going off track, resulting in it resurfacing more than one lap behind the other competitors. Another victim of the first lap was Sophia Flörsch, who encountered a problem with her Algarve Pro Racing car right at the beginning of the race. She completed the first lap at a greatly reduced pace before returning to the pits for her team to work on car 47. She reemerged with a five-lap deficit.

In the LMGTE PRO category, the battle between the three manufacturers is raging as the seven cars are very closely matched, but the Corvette, with car number 64 ahead of car number 63, are currently dominating their category.

Finally, as amateurs, the Iron Dames team also experienced an issue with their Ferrari as the trio of girls returned to their pit at a slow pace after about twenty minutes of the race. They were able to get back on track without any problem, but in last place in the LMGTE AM category.
