Schumacher’s accident in Monaco not as expensive as expected
Mick Schumacher was involved in a serious accident in Monaco, splitting his car in two and giving his mechanics a lot of repair work. However, the bill shouldn't be too steep.

In this new era of Formula 1, governed by the budget cap, accidents can cost a lot and impact a team’s economy. Following numerous accidents, it is clear that Mick Schumacher represents a certain expense to cover the costs of his crashes. This new crash in Monaco almost followed the one in Jeddah, where the bill already exceeded one million euros, but the accident in the principality would be less costly.
According to the technical director of Haas F1 Team, Simone Resta, the team has managed to salvage some useful components from Mick’s crashed car, as they initially thought they had lost the engine, gearbox, and chassis. After inspection by the American team, only the exterior of the gearbox is severely damaged. According to Haas engineers, the Ferrari 066/7 engine, as well as the chassis, are far from irreparable. This is good news for them.
So much so that Haas has decided to bring Schumacher’s chassis to Azerbaijan as a replacement in case of a serious accident before the race, considering that it has already been repaired. Baku being a track with a very high probability of accidents, it wouldn’t be impossible to see this already marked chassis back in action.
