Improvements for Alpine in Baku
Formula 1 arrives in Azerbaijan on a very atypical track. This Grand Prix marks the arrival of a new aerodynamic package for Alpine.

Alternating very long straight lines and narrow, winding turns, the Baku circuit is an aerodynamic puzzle. The teams will strive to find the perfect balance in setting up their race car.
Bringing improvements upon improvements at almost every Grand Prix, Alpine arrives this weekend with a new aerodynamic package inspired by Monza.
“We will bring some specific aerodynamic updates to the circuit this weekend before launching the next series of improvements as part of our 2022 development plan,” explains Otmar Szafnauer, the team principal.
It is always delicate to set up the car in Baku, where it is essential to have a high top speed in order to be competitive on the long straight lines. The central part of the track, on the other hand, features low-speed corners. It is a difficult balance to find. The objective will be to qualify as high as possible on the grid, to remain reasonable and patient during the race, and to be in a position to seize any opportunity that may arise.
Alpine hopes to leave Baku with some extra points to stay in the fight for the constructors’ championship.
