It was a somewhat disrupted session that almost all drivers experienced. Indeed, some cars were unable to take part in the session, such as the Algarve Pro Racing number 45 due to its accident during the first free practice session. The Toyota number 8 could have suffered the same fate but eventually left its pit, shortly before the red flag caused by Michael Fassbender’s accident at the first chicane of the Hunaudières.

Before this accident, Kamui Kobayashi set a staggering time of 3’27”427, which ended up being the best time of the session since rain poured down on the circuit with 20 minutes left. All the cars thus returned to the pits and only a few went back out for the final 10 minutes, still on a wet track.

The hierarchy remains the same in hypercar, as the two Glickenhaus cars are in 2nd and 3rd position. Alpine benefits from the Toyota 8’s setbacks to gain a place. All these cars will be present for the hyperpole (the top six from each category) tomorrow evening.

In LMP2, the Richard Mille is the first team not qualified for tomorrow evening’s session. In LMGTE PRO, both AF Corse, both Corvette, and Porsche 91 and 92 are qualified. In the amateur category, AF Corse 51 and 61, Kessel 57, Dempsey-Proton 77, Iron Dames 85, and Northwest AMR 98 are qualified.
