Mercedes AMG-One: the production version soon to be revealed
The road version of the AMG One has been expected for over 5 years. On social media, Mercedes has posted a video with a very close date: June 1st.

The German hypercar was unveiled in 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in front of a massive crowd. It was a concept car powered, quite modestly, by a Formula 1 derived engine. The over 1000hp turbo V6 engine from the W08 was then mounted on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, all paired with 4 electric motors, one on each wheel. With a production announced at 275 units, it was sold for 2,500,000 euros. The road version of the AMG One is expected to be presented on Wednesday, June 1st.
This is at least what we can understand by following Mercedes AMG’s social media, as they have posted a short video featuring the W13 and what appears to be the AMG One in the dark, only visible through white lines embracing the shape of the car.
This car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 200km/h in 6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 350km/h. The V6 PU106C hybrid engine has been optimized to operate at both high and low speeds, with an idle speed of 1200rpm (as opposed to 5000rpm for an F1 car, much quieter in the city, editor’s note) and a maximum speed limited to 11,000rpm, compared to 15,000rpm for the W13. Even with all these optimizations, the engine will need to be inspected or possibly rebuilt every 50,000km. It is also capable of driving 25km in full electric mode.
The former CEO of AMG, Tobias Moers, had announced that the AMG One could beat the Nordschleife record held by the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, a statement that was bold and yet ambitious. Response on Wednesday, June 1st.
