Vips will participate in the first free practice session with Red Bull in Barcelona
Jüri Vips will participate in his first free practice session in Formula 1 during the Spanish Grand Prix.
“After Williams and Nyck de Vries, it is now Red Bull’s turn to announce that one of its young drivers will take the wheel in Barcelona this weekend. The fortunate one is none other than Jüri Vips, currently a Formula 2 driver.”
The 21-year-old Estonian will participate in his first free practice session in Formula 1 with the Red Bull team and will replace Mexican Sergio Pérez.
Currently eighth in Formula 2 after three meetings in the Formula 1 feeder series, Vips is among the drivers who could claim a seat at AlphaTauri next year, in the event that Yuki Tsunoda fails to impress in the second half of the season.
