Alonso would like to see an arrival of Andretti in F1
Fernando Alonso has indicated that he would be in favor of the arrival of the Andretti group in Formula 1.

It’s not new, the name Andretti is very often associated with Formula 1. Already present in IndyCar, Extreme E, and Formula E, Michael Andretti’s group doesn’t hide its desire to join the pinnacle of motorsport. While discussions with the Sauber group took place last year for a potential acquisition, which ultimately fell through, an arrival as a full-fledged team starting in 2024 is now part of the most likely plans.
Even though it is very difficult to make it to F1 and be competitive right away, the arrival of an eleventh team on the grid could be widely seen as good news.
This is the case with Fernando Alonso, who stated that it would be a good thing for both parties. « Of course, it could be a great thing. I know Michael very well, I know the Andretti family. They are obviously a big part of motorsport in general and they are legends. So if we can include them in Formula 1, it will be the best news, I think for both. »
Alonso believes that the project can benefit everyone. Formula 1 would benefit from it, and obviously, Michael and his team could benefit from this sport and from being in Formula 1. I think they have the capabilities, the resources, and the talent to be in Formula 1 and also to be competitive. So I hope that it will happen in the coming years, and I will be closely following it.
