The Mercedes hasn’t improved in five races for Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton stated that he didn't feel like Mercedes had improved after five Grand Prix races in this 2022 season.

Eight-time reigning world constructors’ champion, Mercedes was naturally expected to challenge for the title once again this season. However, after five races, it is clear that Mercedes doesn’t have the level to compete with Ferrari and Red Bull head-on. With only 95 points after five Grand Prix, they currently sit in third place in the constructors’ championship, largely thanks to flawless reliability that allows for nearly perfect optimization.
Struggling against his teammate George Russell, who has 23 points more than him in the championship, Lewis Hamilton believes that the Silver Arrows have failed to catch up with the two leading teams. « We are at the same pace as in the first race. So we just have to keep trying. »
We haven’t improved, unfortunately, in these five races. I hope at some point we will. But we just have to keep trying, keep working hard.
Plagued by porpoising issues since the beginning of the season, which slow down the pace on track and the speed of development, Hamilton believes that in Miami the problem was better managed than at the beginning of the season, but the car was losing performance. It wasn’t that bad today. Race by race, track by track, surface by surface, depending on how high we set the car – we can raise the car and lower it – so today it wasn’t really bad, just not fast.
