Capito is giving Latifi some time despite rumors of replacement
Despite rumors of a possible mid-season replacement for Nicholas Latifi, his team has maintained confidence in their driver.

In recent weeks, rumors in the paddock have mentioned a possible replacement of Nicholas Latifi by Oscar Piastri at Williams. The new owners of the Grove team, Dorilton Capital, are reportedly not satisfied with the performances of the Canadian driver.
Since 2020, the year of his Formula 1 debut, Latifi has been more talked about for his off-track incidents than for his achievements behind the wheel. It is particularly remembered that it was following an accident involving car number 6 that the famous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Safety Car had to come out onto the track in 2021. The rest is history.
Dominated for two seasons by George Russell, the Canadian is also lagging behind this year compared to his new teammate Alex Albon. He is currently the only driver on the grid, alongside Mick Schumacher, who has not yet scored any points.
The name of Alpine’s third driver, Oscar Piastri, has been persistently linked to a Williams seat in 2023, but recent rumors have suggested a mid-season replacement. Jost Capito, the boss of Williams F1, wanted to set the record straight: “When you have multiple setbacks, it takes time to regain confidence. However, he still has the full support of the team, and we are confident that he will find his form again.”
