The dream of native Roskilde continues after the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

Called upon late to replace Russian Nikita Mazepin, he is performing much better than a luxury substitute in this early season.

After four Grand Prix and five races, he has 15 points and is currently in 10th place in the driver’s championship. He also manages the feat of scoring all the points for the Haas team.

In addition to this good ranking, he achieves his best qualifying result at Imola, securing the fourth position on Friday night. Even though he has to drop to eighth place at the end of the sprint race, and then to ninth place in Sunday’s race, KMAG manages to score points four times out of five races.

« I was hoping that the rain would come back because we had a slightly better pace in the rain. Over five races, including the sprint race, we achieved podium finishes four times, so it was a good race for us.

A defensive race at Imola

As for Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel, the rainy weather played in favor of Haas and Kevin Magnussen. It was fun. I had a good start and we had the right pace in the rain, but unfortunately we weren’t as competitive on dry track.

Magnussen started eighth on the grid on Sunday and managed to avoid the accident between Sainz, Ricciardo, and Bottas ahead of him. Despite this, he loses one position in the final standings and finishes ninth.

“With a perfect stop, I would have surely finished eighth, but we must be happy with this result.”

Magnussen revisits a cautious decision.

We probably stopped one lap too late. I was telling the team not to react too hastily, and that surely contributed to this result. We also made a too slow pit stop.
