There will finally be only 3 DRS zones in Australia
For safety reasons, a DRS zone is removed in Australia starting from free practice 3.

The section along Lakeside Drive was modified this year. The previous chicane has been removed, and this area has transformed into a long, very fast curve.
The FIA has authorized the implementation of a fourth DRS zone. This is how the first two free practice sessions unfolded this Friday.
The race strategies, as well as the different settings, have been defined taking into account this area. The single-seaters were able to perform test runs with a higher aerodynamic load than in Jeddah, in particular.
Unfortunately, this zone is now removed and the circuit now features three activation areas for this system. This late decision is motivated by the safety of the drivers.
The third practice session will therefore be crucial; in just one hour, all settings will need to be readjusted.
