Helmut Marko prefers to fight with Ferrari rather than with Mercedes
Red Bull's sports advisor, Helmut Marko, believes that the battle with Ferrari is being carried out in a better spirit than the one with Mercedes.

Helmut Marko was all smiles after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Red Bull advisor considers this race to be one of the most beautiful he has witnessed. The former driver not only enjoyed Max Verstappen’s victory but also the sportsmanship displayed in the battle between his protégé and Charles Leclerc, compared to the one between the Dutchman and Lewis Hamilton last season.
When Max saw his chance, he immediately seized it. His overtakes were incredible,” declared the Austrian to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, while also warning about a potential comeback from the German team: “Mercedes is too slow at the moment. Maybe they can solve their problems, but in the meantime, we won’t be sleeping.”
Moreover, the one who predicted a difficult season for Hamilton takes the opportunity to take a little dig at the eight-time world championship team: « I find it more enjoyable to fight with Leclerc and Ferrari than with Mercedes. It’s at a higher sporting level now. »
Finally, Marko thinks that the duel between Red Bull and Scuderia will remain fair play: « There have only been two races so far and I don’t think things will escalate like with Mercedes. »
