Saudi Arabia Grand Prix – Francophones Review: Charles Leclerc
Even though disappointment was written all over his face at the end of the race, Charles Leclerc once again delivered a splendid battle, filled with intelligence and sportsmanship in Jeddah.

A new feeling
Last year, Charles Leclerc dreamt of a podium. This year, disappointment prevails when the Monegasque can only manage second place.
This new feeling betrays his real ambition. To win! After two years of drought, the thirst for victory is only stronger.
In 2022, Ferrari finally provides him with the equipment that allows him to compete for the world title, and clearly it is his only goal.
A brilliant and smart race
Well assisted by Nicholas Latifi’s crash and especially the safety car deployment, Charles Leclerc takes the lead at the restart.
He handled the comeback perfectly, in order to avoid losing everything in the slipstream during this long straight.
Intelligent as well, during their battle in the final laps of the race. He knew how to let Max Verstappen pass in order to better exit the last corner and take him back at the end of the following straight.
Or, when they were playing cat and mouse with this last DRS detection zone.
He gave it his all, but it wasn’t enough. In Jeddah, the top speed of the Red Bull prevailed.
Regardless, despite the disappointment of two second places (in Q3 and in the race), Charles Leclerc proves his fighting spirit by winning the fastest lap point for the second time this year in the race, but more importantly, he strengthens his position as the championship leader.
