Hamilton: “I was not expecting any apologies in the report on Abu Dhabi”
After the final report from the FIA on the events in Abu Dhabi, the Mercedes team wanted to turn the page and focus on the upcoming season, while expressing satisfaction that Michael Masi's human error had been recognized.

This is undoubtedly the end of a serial that has animated the offseason. The FIA report on the events of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been released, and on Mercedes’ side, they want to turn the page on the title lost in the final lap of the last race. Lewis Hamilton expressed himself in this sense by saying that he had moved on.
« I wasn’t expecting any apology, and it’s not something I’m really focused on. We know it’s like this, and anyway, it probably wasn’t going to happen. At least there was this transparency in acknowledging that it was a human mistake. I think it’s a good step. Unfortunately, we can’t go back and change the past, », the Briton admitted.
I am just focused on what I have to do on the track and trying to build the future by working with this team and getting the most out of this car. We have some work to do.
Same tune on Toto Wolff’s side who wants to turn the page and focus on the 2022 season. Whether the report is comprehensive or not, weak or harsh, I think broadcasting it is a good step forward in terms of governance. For us, the fact that it is mentioned that it was a human error is very important and now we can move on. “I am satisfied,” said the boss of Mercedes.
“I haven’t thought about Abu Dhabi since our car showed that it wasn’t competitive on the track this year,” concluded Toto Wolff, whose W13 seems to be lagging behind Red Bull and Ferrari despite Lewis Hamilton’s podium in Bahrain.”
