Here is his first reaction the next day at the press conference following his great victory:
« Yes, this race wasn’t easy with the Safety Car at the end. I had a lot of stress, it was a one lap race to the checkered flag so it wasn’t easy. The team’s strategy was very good, the pit stop as well, and I think that helped me a lot because I think Juri Vips was a bit faster than us. I had a bit of luck to win today, but we also did an excellent job, so yes, I’m really happy, a big thank you to the team, the Sauber academy, and my family as well.
»
Despite this victory, Théo is not satisfied with his start.
« Since what happened in Jeddah last year, I am not feeling great, confident at every start. I need to work on that a little. It’s not easy, I have images in my head of what happened and it’s difficult, mentally it’s tough, but I will work on it. It wasn’t bad, I was fourth after the first round, which was good, but next time, I will try to improve that, I will try to have better starts, better first laps, and I know I can do it.
»
That is the only evil one can wish upon him.
Regarding Clément Novalak, here’s what he shared with us:
« This is therefore a technical problem that puts an end to my race. I was on the right track for a top 10 finish, maybe even a podium with how the race unfolded! »
One thing is for sure, Clément does not intend to stop there and he plans to move forward!
