Bahrain Testing: Summary of the first two days of testing!
Formula 2 also has its winter tests. Let's review the first two days!
The world of Formula 2 has unpacked its bags at Shakir for three days of testing before the start of the season on this track.
The 22 drivers and 11 teams are all present. They have two daily sessions of 2 hours and 30 minutes to prepare for the 2022 season.
Day 1
The teams focus more on race pace than performance.
However, for this first day, lap times fell during the afternoon session.
Jehan Daruvala, the new PREMA driver, sets the fastest time of the day with a lap time of 1’42″074.
French drivers Clément Novalak and Théo Pourchaire are a bit further down in the rankings (19th and 11th), preferring to focus on race pace and tire degradation.

The problems for Juri Vips
During this first day, Estonian driver Juri Vips, in his Hitech team, experienced two issues on the track, leading to two red flags in the morning and another one in the afternoon. Bad luck seems to have accompanied him throughout the winter.
Day 2
Big morning of driving for all drivers. Juri Vips makes up for his delay from yesterday by setting the fastest time of the morning in 1’46″705.
Regarding the afternoon, some drivers performed qualification simulations.
Liam Lawson is the first driver to break the 1’42″000 barrier for the first time in practice, with a time of 1’41″623.
Théo Pourchaire did an excellent job this afternoon, finishing in third place with a lap time of 1’42″096.
