Hamilton warns Verstappen: “I am in the best shape of my life”
Lewis Hamilton took advantage of the first laps of the new cars in Barcelona to put pressure on his Dutch rival.
This end of February 2022 marks the beginning of winter testing for the new F1 season. All the teams are currently in Barcelona to test their new cars and gather all the possible information before the first Grand Prix of the season, at the end of March, in Bahrain.
A little over two months after the season 2021 finale in Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton took advantage of this back-to-school period to deliver a message to the paddock, particularly to the one who beat him in the championship last season.
“At the end of each season, you think about the future, especially at my age,” he said to Formulaonepassion. “I have considered all the options, but I love what I do and working with my team. I feel like I am at my best, so why should I leave? I feel like I am in the prime of my life.”
The rivals of British driver, Max Verstappen leading the pack, have been warned. The Mercedes driver is out for revenge and will do everything to clinch an eighth world championship.
