Already the restart for AlphaTauri
Following Ferrari's lead, AlphaTauri will hit the track this week at Imola with its two regular drivers, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda.

History will remember that the first laps of Formula 1 cars in 2022 took place in Italy. While Ferrari has scheduled a testing session at its Fiorano track, the AlphaTauri team has chosen the Imola circuit for its first test session of the year. The track, which hosts the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, has the advantage of being located not far from Faenza, where the small Scuderia’s factory is located.
This testing session is meant to allow all team members to regain their automatism after the winter break. Since the regulations are very strict, it is out of the question to put the car that will participate in the upcoming season on the track, nor to test the new Pirelli tires. AlphaTauri has also decided to make their 2020 F1 car, the AT01, available to their drivers. The one with which Pierre Gasly won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza that year.
These three scheduled testing days this week represent the first events of a busy calendar for the French driver and his Japanese teammate. On February 14th, the new AT03 will be unveiled. Then it will be time to take part in the official pre-season testing: first in Barcelona from February 23rd to 25th, and then in Bahrain from March 10th to 12th. Finally, the season will start on the same Bahrain circuit on March 20th.
