Frederik Vesti will be in Formula 2 in 2022
Frederik Vesti was announced today as the teammate of Théo Pourchaire at ART GP in 2022.
After two seasons in FIA F3, Frederik Vesti will be on the grid for the F2 championship in 2022. A great promotion for the Danish driver who is gradually getting closer to the pinnacle of motorsport.
He will join a team he knows well, ART GP, with whom he completed his second season of F3 in 2020. A 2020 season that saw him finish 4th in the drivers’ standings, highlighted by a victory in Austria.
Also a member of the Mercedes academy, the Dane follows in the footsteps of a certain George Russell who also made his mark in the Formula 1 feeder series within the French structure.
Within a team like ART, Vesti has all the tools to make great progress as a driver in 2022 and maybe even establish himself as one of the top contenders in the championship.
He will be racing alongside Théo Pourchaire, who had a very promising rookie season. Frederik Vesti will therefore have a good reference for his debut.
The young Danish seems to be very excited about this opportunity: (e) Signing my contract in F2 with ART Grand Prix is something important for me. We worked very hard in F3 last season and I’m looking forward to continuing those efforts with them in F2.
The Formula 2 season will start on March 18th in Bahrain.
