Prost talks about his future
The departure of Alain Prost from Alpine has surprised many, especially considering he held a non-executive director position at Renault since 2019. So, what does the future hold for Prost?

The four-time world champion, Alain Prost, is no longer in the world of Formula 1, indicating that he is not “looking for a job”. This is a situation he decided to address in an interview with RacingNews365.com.
I don’t have an offer yet. I am a free person. It’s true, I have a great experience in Formula 1 and if I can still use it, I will, because it’s almost my world, it’s my family in a way – I know everyone. But I’m not looking for a job.
“If I have the opportunity to share my experience of about 40 years, with different teams and different relationships with many people, explains Alain Prost.”
But for the French, being outside the world of Formula 1 and not having a job in it is not a problem.
« I am proud of what I have done. But you know, it’s not so easy, and I want to have fun. The relationship with people is very important. But I don’t have any plans at the moment. I don’t know what I’m going to do. »
(I) I’m telling you, it’s not a problem. I mean, I’m 66 years old and I also have various businesses outside. But yes, if I can stay involved in Formula 1 in some way, that would be my goal, for sure. (F), said the former driver.
Alain Prost had also spoken with the FIA to be involved in some way or another, and he had even considered running for the election of the new president of the FIA.
« I wanted to do it, I was ready for it, but I was too late. I spoke to Jean Todt, I spoke to Graham, and the idea, if Graham became the new president, was that I would only be involved in Formula 1, and that was interesting.
(I) I had contacts with Ben Sulayem in Paris just before the election, but we didn’t talk about it. You know, it’s a new organization, a new president and I have no idea what’s going to happen. (F) Prost confides.
One thing is certain, if Prost comes back to F1, it will be in a specific role.
« It needs to be clear. Even my role at Renault wasn’t clear enough and people are very jealous because they want to gain the spotlight, so I’m very, very cautious about it.
»
That’s why it’s not so easy to have a clear goal, but I am very open. As I said, I’m not looking for a job, but I am open to listening. I have already had one or two calls, I will think about what could be interesting, concludes Alain Prost.
