Pérez optimistic about 2022
After a successful first season with Red Bull, Sergio Perez is already thinking about the next one. For the Mexican, who will be partnering with the reigning world champion Max Verstappen, 2022 looks promising considering the experience he has gained with Red Bull last season.
Sergio Pérez managed to convince Red Bull to extend his contract for the 2022 season, notably thanks to his victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Mexican driver also contributed to Max Verstappen’s world champion title by assisting him during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
His key role for Red Bull and his experience allow him to look at the next season with optimism in terms of his progression as a driver.
“The engineers, mechanics, and team leaders must also give everything. Everyone works tirelessly to achieve the perfect result. It has been an incredible experience that has taken me to a whole new level as a driver,” explains Sergio Pérez.
Furthermore, the new regulations represent a great opportunity for Mexicans to shine. They are already confident for 2022.
“We already have a good foundation to build upon and improve. It’s a big difference compared to last year. I know all the members of the team and I know who to ask for what and how to get the best out of each one. It’s a completely different situation,” recounted Pérez.
The Mexican approaches 2022 with ambitions and the desire to be one of the contenders for the title.
