Kimi Räikkönen driver of the day in Abu Dhabi
For his final race in Formula 1, Kimi Räikkönen was voted driver of the day.
It’s not really a surprise. This Sunday, in Abu Dhabi, Kimi Räikkönen was awarded the Driver of the Day title. Since the beginning of last week, the F1 community has gathered and launched several initiatives to name the Finn as the Driver of the Day for two reasons. Firstly, to honor the Iceman, and secondly, to see his reaction on the radio after the race.
Unfortunately, his last race came to an abrupt end as the Alfa Romeo driver was plagued by brake issues, which forced him to retire.
Despite this somewhat sad ending, the Finnish driver will forever remain in the history of F1 as one of the greatest drivers this sport has ever had.
