Van Amersfoort Racing joins Formula 2!
The Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) team is joining Formula 2 and also Formula 3 starting in 2022! They will be replacing the HWA Racelab team.
It is now official, the Van Amersfoot Racing team is joining Formula 2!
It was planned for the team to first explore Formula 3, replacing the HWA Racelab team.
Today, HWA also leaves Formula 2, which benefits VAR to enter the Formula 1 waiting room!
HWA has been present in Formula 2 since 2020 after acquiring the assets of the Arden team.
The Dutch team is well known in lower divisions. It has had drivers like Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Anthoine Hubert, and many others in its ranks, especially in the European F3.
The first appearance of VAR in FIA F2 will take place during the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for December 16, 17, and 18.
For the moment, no driver has been confirmed, but it is possible that Turkish Cem Bolukbasi, who is a sim racing and GT4 driver, as well as competing in F3 Asia, etc … Wait and see!
