Russell has his favorite for the title
The battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton for the F1 world championship title will come to an end this weekend with the final race of the season. George Russell has shared his thoughts on who he would like to see win.
This Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises to be intense with the great outcome to know who between Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton will become the F1 world champion of the 2021 season. Russell has chosen his favorite between the two drivers.
« I would love to see Lewis win,” said George Russell.
A logical choice for the Williams driver, given that the latter is joining Mercedes in 2022 and will have Lewis Hamilton as his teammate. Moreover, Russell did not fail to mention how incredible his compatriot’s season has been while hoping that this finale will unfold in a respectful and fair manner.
« What he has achieved, especially recently, is extraordinary. Being able to compete in a year where Red Bull has such a superior car, especially at the beginning of the season. Max [Verstappen] has also done an exceptional job, they both deserve to win, for different reasons. Hopefully it stays fair. », concluded George Russell.
Russell, for his part, will bid farewell to his Williams team with which he entered F1 three years ago. The Briton will begin a new adventure with Mercedes next year, possibly with an eight-time F1 world champion as his teammate.
