This weekend, Williams will run in honor of its founder, Frank Williams, who passed away this Sunday. On this occasion, the members of the British team will pay several tributes to their creator.

« Sir Frank was a racer at the very core of himself and we will be racing in his honor this weekend, with many tributes planned to celebrate his extraordinary life, » says Jost Capito, CEO of Williams.

Dave Robson, the performance director within the Grove team, says that Frank’s legacy will live on and we will continue to race as he would have expected of us, drawing on his memory as a source of pride and inspiration.

On the one hand, George Russell, who is living his last moments behind the wheel of a Williams, hopes to have a good race to honor Frank’s memory. « It is with great sadness that we head to Saudi Arabia this weekend, following the passing of Sir Frank. But within the team, we are determined to pay tribute to him and to honor him as he would have liked us to do: by racing. »

In the standings, Williams is in 8th place, ahead of Alfa Romeo and Haas. If the British team has a solid lead over its pursuer, it has not scored a single point since the Russian Grand Prix.
