Rumors about the second Alfa Romeo driver have been circulating for several weeks now. But this time, the advertising poster in Shanghai seems to really indicate that it will be Zhou who will join Alfa Romeo. He would then be the first Chinese driver to join F1.
It is written on the poster:
« Guanyu Zhou will join Alfa Romeo! The first F1 driver from China. » The message continues with « Go China, go Alfa Romeo, go Guanyu Zhou! »
This rumor would thus seal the fate of Antonio Giovinazzi, who has had a complicated season so far. Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas would therefore be the driver duo for Alfa Romeo in 2022. The official announcement is expected next Tuesday.
