Mercedes changed Lewis Hamilton’s engine, confirming the rumors surrounding this subject. The Briton will therefore take a five-place grid penalty this Sunday.

This news was expected after seeing his teammate Valtteri Bottas change his engine in several previous Grand Prix races. Hamilton’s last engine change dates back to the Turkish Grand Prix.

This penalty promises to have a significant impact on the title race between Hamilton and Verstappen. The Mercedes driver is currently trailing by 19 points in the championship.
