Mexican Grand Prix – Very good performance by Pierre Gasly
This is a new arrival in the points for Pierre Gasly who continues to establish himself as one of the strong drivers in the midfield.

Pierre Gasly was putting in another superb performance on Saturday in qualifying with his 13th Top 6 of the season. A very nice result helped by his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, who was giving him a tow in Q3.
A little shy when the lights went out, the Norman was overtaken by Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren and found himself in 6th position approaching the first turn. Fortunately for him, a collision between the Australian and Valtteri Bottas saw him emerge from the corner in 4th position.
Pierre Gasly made a good start to the Grand Prix by pulling away from the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc behind him, his main rival of this 2021 Formula 1 season.
With Charles Leclerc stopping on the 30th lap of the race, Pierre Gasly decided to cover the Monegasque’s strategy by diving into the pit lane one lap later. Coming out with a 2-second lead, the AlphaTauri driver managed to rebuild his lead, and by the 50th lap, the gap was 10 seconds between the two men.
Finally, Gasly finishes comfortably in 4th position, marking the 7th arrival in the Top 6 for the Frenchman who regains points after his retirement in the United States.
It was an incredible race. 4th in front of the two Ferraris is really a good result. I was in control from the start to the finish. I felt good in the car since the beginning of the weekend and the car’s performance was very good. The job has been done.
This race allows him to pull ahead of Fernando Alonso in the driver’s championship, but most importantly, it allows AlphaTauri to catch up to Alpine. Both teams have 106 points.
